By February 6, 2017: Department/Program selects candidate(s), requests student essay
By February 20: Student submits essay to DUS. The essay should provide an overview of the student’s intellectual interests, focusing in particular on major research projects that they have either competed, are currently in progress, or plan to undertake in the immediate future, and should include their future plans.
March 8: DUS or Chair or their designee submits the completed nomination with cover sheet to: firstname.lastname@example.org
On or around late March: Semi-finalists are contacted
Early April: Faculty Scholars Committee interviews semi-finalists
April 20: Academic Council receives the announcement of the winners during their regular monthly meeting
